For my modern ocuppy wallstreet movement. This movement was started as a protest for the americans that make up the the 99% of people that are not rich in america. The movement speaks out about how perecentage wise the top one perecent of americas rich do not pay the same amount of taxes. In this way they are a modern populist party. The movement also fits in to equality because the are protesting for equal payment.

the Populists veiwson governmentveiws on government. The Populist party is a great example of Equality because the party wanted the rich and the poor to be equil and have the same rights and opportunities.

In 1892 a new party was formed. the party was know as the Populists Party. It was mostly made of poor white farmers from the east. They wanted to have the price of their crops increas so that they could sell them for more crops and make more money. They also wanted the railroads to charge less to take the crops to the north and south for the markets. This party did not last long however because in the election of 1896 when the Democratic party and the Populists party choose the same candidate named William Jennings Bryan. This was a bad thing because the Democratic party then adopted all of the Populists veiwson government
